AEROFLEX present at the WG29 “Working Party on Automated/Autonomous and Connected Vehicles” -GRVA- , UN Geneva January 29th .
The invitation was organized by IDIADA, leading the AEROFLEX work package 7 “SB and Recommendation for the Legislative Framework”.
The technologies and innovations developed within the AEROFLEX project require an in depth interaction with authorities and policy makers to enable their implementation and access to the logistics and transport industry. A change in the legislative framework is a long term process, so during the course of 2018 it is decided (and presented during the HVTT15 Rotterdam, October 2018) to start the process already far in front of the project end, March 2021.
The presence at the GRVA was a first step followed by a number of specific workshop this year 2019, e.g. “Workshop on Regulatory Framework” at IFSTTAR facilities in Paris, February 19th.
During a time slot of 15min, the AEROFLEX project coordinator, Ben Kraaijenhagen, presented the high lights of the project and touched the most severe topics in need of a deeper look into the legislative framework. A general statement was given by the chair, Mr. Bernard Frost, that a legislative framework should support implementation of new technologies and innovations, certainly when a whole industry and the society is benefiting from it.
