Another highlight within the project AEROFLEX
Last week, October 6-9, the AEROFLEX project team achieved an important milestone. 6 months of hard work; the truck, the dolly and the trailer are ready to undertake the test program.
“After 3 busy days, the WABCO ZF Group OptiFlow members are happy to finalize the ‘commissioning’ of the AEROFLEX AEROLOAD EMS1 demonstrator at IDIADA, Santa Oliva Spain. We now hand the demonstration vehicle over to Applus+ IDIADA for extensive testing on the test track & road. Let’s see if the 14 aerodynamic innovations deliver the savings we expect! “
The AEROFLEX AEROLAD vehicle is aerodynamic optimized by installing active and passive devices, adapting the shape of the vehicle according the conditions, e.g. weather, load, road.
The activation of these devices is via automotive ethernet communication, developed within the AEROFLEX project using existing connectors according the ISO 11992 as defined in SAE1939.
We believe a step ahead in making trucks more efficiency, minimizing the environmental impact.
